Our No Hidden-Fee Policy
While we take great steps to ensure that your move is as smooth and cost-effective as possible, you must examine the estimate provided to you and make yourself aware of extra-ordinary charges depending on your circumstances.
These are not horror stories designed to give you cause for concern as hidden fees but to illustrate a worst-case scenario if you do not provide our guys with all the details of your items, home, and neighborhood street conditions. Here is a full list of the charges that may or may not be incurred:
Shuttle
This would be our most significant potential impasse. If it is not possible to park our 18-wheeler semi-truck outside your home – either because there is no parking allowed on-street, if the road is too narrow/winding, or if there are low lying overhead power lines, we will have to send out for a smaller shuttle truck to complete the move.
The charge for this is divided into two sections: the initial 500 cubic feet of your goods is charged at XXX, and each additional cubic foot extra is charged at XXX. To this end, it is imperative to verify that your street can accommodate our service trucks to avoid this. For apartment buildings, you can check with your Superintendent.
Flight of Stairs/Elevator
There is no charge for the first flight of stairs to your apartment regarding moving to apartments. Each extra flight would cost XXX, which goes straight to the movers themselves.
However, if your old apartment has an elevator, a once-off charge of XXX is applied in lieu of the Flight of Stairs charge. So that’s a far more efficient job than if you live on the 4th floor or above.
Fragile Items
All fragile items and units with substantial amounts of glass, such as table glass tops, as well as stone, marble, and granite items, must be appropriately wrapped and protected by you before our movers can take great care to load them onto the truck; otherwise, we would have to create said items which comes at various charges.
Long Carry Moving Services
With some apartment buildings in San Francisco which are U-shaped – with the two ends facing the street – there may be a considerable distance between the road and the entrance of the house or apartment door. If this distance exceeds 75 feet, a long carry charge of XX is applied for each additional 75 feet.
Cubic Footage
The inventory provided in the estimate must match the items you are moving out of your home in Sunnyvale, CA. So far, your estimate has a set amount of cubic feet worth of articles.
If there are any items you forget to mention to our long-distance guys, the cubic footage will have exceeded the booked estimate price & our driver will have to charge for the additional cubic footage. This is particularly important when ascertaining the number of boxes you wish us to move.
Our company understands that calculating the total boxes is a near-impossible task but if you could make sure that the number of boxes on the inventory either matches or exceeds the amount you will have (you will only be charged for the space you take in the truck so any excess boxes on the list will be struck off).
